The Origins of Metabolic Typing and Why it Can Work for you, UK - The pioneers of health

The nutritional art of Metabolic typing® has only been prevalent and researched in mainstream science since the 1950's, when the theory of biochemical individuality was published by Dr Roger Williams.
Before this point only the work of Dr Weston A Price in the 1920's was accessible. Although his work did not link directly to Metabolic typing® it researched primitive tribes worldwide and linked their native diets to their superior health and longevity. Dr Price was a dentist who noticed a large decline in the quality of his patients teeth during his time in practice which was a time in which processed and packaged foods were on the increase.
This led him to study primitive tribes to see if they had the same dental problems as his patients. He only found the same problems in native groups that had adopted the eating habits of the industrialised world incorporating processed foods into their diet. When subjects returned to their primitive diets of fresh and natural whole foods available from the land they inhabited most symptoms disappeared entirely. The tribe's diets varied hugely , Eskimos tribesmen would eat 85% fat and protein, whereas the tribes of South America ate barely any fat or protein. But all tribes shared one thing in common, and that was superior health.
This theory was then developed and applied to clinical practice to help people of the modern world restore their health issues and reach optimal health. This was through the work of William Wolcott in 1984 with the book "The Metabolic typing® Diet" who is the founder of Metabolic typing®. His principal was based around a theory called the dominance factor where different foods work differently among individuals in differing proportions, "one mans food is another mans poison".
Metabolic typing® has been acknowledged as the optimal tool to define an individual eating plan by many dieticians, nutritionists and holistic practitioners worldwide. It has been simplified in many ways to be better understood and better applied in its clinical application. The most advanced version is included in the packages on this site for the development of your individual diet and lifestyle plan.
